The Nurse Educator will be an expert in industry education standards supporting and guiding caregivers in self-improvement and self-development. The Nurse Educator will assess, guide, support, coordinate, and evaluate caregivers? orientation and ongoing learning needs in alignment with their associated program, service or care group. Under the direction of the Education Manager will be a resource, consultant, and mentor to caregivers and clinical coaches in their assigned area fostering self-reliance and building a social team.The RN Educator may be asked to travel to various locations to perform their work duties.Posting Specifics

Shift Details: Full time (36 budgeted hours). Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 5:00 pm.
Unit/Location: 1232 N. 30th Street Suite 200 Billings, MT
Preferred Qualifications: Licensed RN/Diabetes and Endocrinology experience preferred.
Additional Information:This position will also be providing Diabetes education to any Pediatric Diabetes admission at St. Vincent hospital prior to the patient's discharge and follow-up in our clinic.
Scope
1.Provides clinical expertise relating to assigned area for patients, families as well as for a variety of healthcare professionals. Utilizes nursing process for each patient through the nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Assist in coordinating a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care with other members of the care team.
2. Provides individual and group education to patients and families. Provides accurate assessments of a patient's physical and emotional status, identify learning needs and any unique special requirements needed to facilitate a positive learning environment for the patient, patient support/family and the community in the applicable specialty area.
3. Acts as a resource person to healthcare professionals in the hospital, home care and the community regarding specialty area.
4. Consults with physician regarding patient's treatment and educational plans. Develops communication tools to support effective education and disease management.

9. Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, functions, and related community resources.
10. Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
