We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Educator to support our Intensive Care Unit and Acute Care Medical Telemetry Unit. ICU experience is preferred. The Nurse Educator will serve as an expert in industry education standards, supporting and guiding caregivers in their professional growth, self-improvement, and self-development. In this role, the Nurse Educator will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate orientation and ongoing learning needs in alignment with the program, service, or care group. Under the direction of the Education Manager, the Nurse Educator will act as a resource, consultant, and mentor to caregivers and clinical coaches, fostering self-reliance, critical thinking, and building a supportive learning environment. Key Responsibilities
+ Collaborates across departments to assess goals, priorities, and learning needs within the care area (e.g., performance, competencies, skills, new initiatives), ensuring the integration of evidence-based practices across specialties.
+ Serves as an educational representative on local Shared Leadership Teams (or equivalent).
+ Facilitates high-quality, targeted orientation for new caregivers and supports ongoing development for existing staff and clinical coaches using standardized tools and resources (e.g., CSS).
+ Implements learning initiatives as directed by the Education Manager, including skill development, equipment/process transitions, and timely in-services or refreshers.
+ Conducts learning needs assessments and communicates findings to clinical and education leadership.
+ Supports caregivers in progressing from novice to expert levels of clinical mastery.
+ Evaluates and reports clinical education outcomes to the Education Manager.
+ Maintains and monitors huddle board metrics related to clinical education.
+ Documents learning requirements using approved tools and systems.
+ Assists with regulatory compliance and survey readiness (e.g., The Joint Commission, CMS).
+ Supports simulation-based education for new and existing staff, serving as facilitator, confederate, or subject matter expert in scenario development and delivery.
+ Provides coaching and mentorship to clinical coaches and caregivers, fostering personal growth and professional development.
+ Clearly communicates learning expectations to all participants.
+ Organizes and facilitates skills days and competency pass-off sessions as needed.
+ Engages regularly with Nurse Educators across the organization to align educational efforts.
+ Maintains a visible presence across units, engaging caregivers across all shifts (day, night, weekend).
+ Proactively recognizes and celebrates the contributions of caregivers and peers.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Current RN license in the state of practice
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
+ Unit-specific certifications as required (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) _(Must be obtained within a timeframe defined by service line and department guidelines if not held at time of hire)_
+ Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within three years of hire or promotion
+ Minimum of two years RN experience in the relevant department or specialty care area
+ Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively across all levels
+ Demonstrated experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
+ Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
+ Experience in teaching, presenting, and facilitating learning activities
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (verified upon hire)
+ Master’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or Training/Development
+ Certification in Nursing Professional Development
+ Experience with learning technologies, including LMS, LCMS, and e-learning development tools
+ Two years of experience in strategic planning and continuous improvement

Physical and Sensory Requirements
+ Must possess the ability to visually read and interpret information, labels, and patient needs; operate monitors; and accurately identify equipment and supplies.
+ Requires frequent verbal communication and auditory comprehension during interactions with patients, visitors, and healthcare providers. The ability to quickly and accurately understand spoken information, alarms, and emergent needs is essential, particularly in high-pressure or emergency situations.
+ Demonstrates manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate complex and delicate equipment with precision. This includes regular use of computers for documentation, information retrieval, and medication preparation.
+ Must be able to lift and utilize a full range of motion to assist with patient transfers. Physical tasks include bending, lifting, and carrying supplies and equipment of varying weights, including heavy items.
+ Requires mobility to walk, transport, and ambulate patients, as well as retrieve and distribute supplies and equipment. This includes pushing and pulling gurneys and portable equipment, often in crowded or equipment-filled environments.
+ May be required to maintain a stationary standing position for extended periods.
