This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Tri-County County Community Mental Health Center, 1324 Commerce Dr, Dillon, SC 29536.

As the Registered Nurse you will be under general supervision, provide direct nursing care and supportive therapies to patients with severe and persistent mental illness.

Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse

  • Provide nursing services to patients served by Tri-County Community Mental Health Center (TCCMHC) with emphasis on serving individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Nursing services include but are not limited to administering and monitoring medications accurately, assisting in planning and evaluating nursing services, assisting physicians in facilitating treatment to include completing physical screenings and resolving issues with pharmaceutical companies. Act in a culturally competent manner. Interact with patients, staff, and members of the community with sensitivity and understanding of their respective cultures.
  • Ensure all assigned caseloads and clinical records are in accordance with SCDMH Quality Assurance (QA) standards. Adhere to Corporate Compliance policies and procedures. Adhere to all agency standards and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Utilize collaborative documentation to facilitate effective and efficient provision of services.
  • Participate in nurse meetings, scheduled clinical trainings, total staffing meetings, treatment team meetings, and other assigned meetings.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • An associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • A valid drivers license.

Additional Requirements

  • Routine local travel between three counties served (Chesterfield, Dillon and Marlboro).
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time,
  • Lifting requirement of 20 lbs.
  • This position is considered essential and may be called back during crises/disasters/emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to implement patient care plans.
