• Contract Duration: 6 months
• Pay Rate: $70.00 $75.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 3x12 Hours, 19:00 7:00. Scheduling is based on the needs of the unit. Absolutely no block schedules can be accommodated. Every other weekend/holiday required.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) travel nursing assignment at a major academic medical center in Worcester, MA. The unit covers cardiac surgery ICU, vascular surgery, cardiac medicine, advanced heart failure, and mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, ECMO, durable VAD). Candidates must have Cardiovascular ICU experience to be submitted. The facility will accept a conditional MA license, with the understanding that the traveler is actively working through the full process to obtain a permanent license.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within a cardiac surgery ICU environment covering vascular surgery, cardiac medicine, advanced heart failure, and mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, ECMO, durable VAD).
• Manage and care for patients requiring mechanical circulatory support devices.
• Float to other adult ICUs as needed based on unit requirements.
• Adhere to scheduling based on the needs of the unit; no block schedules can be accommodated.
• Work every other weekend and holiday as required.
• Chart using Epic electronic health record system.
• Pass a pass/fail telemetry test at orientation (1 attempt only; failure results in immediate contract cancellation).

Required Skills

• Must have Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience.
• Must have experience with mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, ECMO, durable VAD).
• Must have Epic charting experience.
• Strong clinical skills required; unit needs strong candidates.

Education Requirements

• MA RN License required (conditional MA license accepted, provided the traveler is actively working through the full process to obtain a permanent license).
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.

Required Experience

• 2.5 years of ICU experience required.
• Must have Cardiovascular ICU experience.
• Must have experience with mechanical circulatory support.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Cardiovascular ICU setting: cardiac surgery ICU, vascular surgery, cardiac medicine, advanced heart failure, and mechanical circulatory support.
• Float to other adult ICUs as needed.
• Every other weekend and holiday coverage required.
• Night shift: 3x12 Hours, 19:00 7:00.
• Flu vaccine required (Medical/Religious exemptions and declinations allowed).
• COVID-19 vaccine: Not required.
• Minimal RTO (Return-to-Office/Request Time Off); a desired length of 3 5 days.

• Traveler will be required to pass a pass/fail telemetry (tele) test at orientation with only 1 attempt. Failure to pass results in immediate contract cancellation.
• Facility will accept a conditional MA license, with the understanding that the traveler is actively working through the full process to obtain a permanent license.
