Registered Nurse/CVICU

Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Morgantown, WV 26505

Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)

Shift: Alternating 3x12-hour shifts (Days and Nights, Weekdays & Weekends). Rotating blocks of night shifts and day shifts based on facility needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-acuity nursing care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

• Manage direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR.

• Perform advanced hemodynamic and pressure monitoring.

• Manage and interpret Swan-Ganz catheter data.

• Monitor and manage Impella devices.

• Provide care for patients receiving CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy).

• Perform ACT (Activated Clotting Time) monitoring.

• Maintain a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio (based on acuity; may include step-down overflow patients).

• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Qualification:

• Minimum 2+ years of CVICU experience.

• Strong cardiac surgery experience.

• Must have direct fresh open-heart admission experience from OR.

• Experience with Swan-Ganz management.

• Experience with Impella monitoring.

• Experience with CRRT.

• ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience required.

Current Certifications:

• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)

• NIH (NIH Stroke Scale)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with Cerner EMR.

• Experience handling step-down level overflow patients.

• Travel experience preferred but not required.
