Overview:

• Department: Community Health Education 

• Schedule: Full Time Days, Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm, Flexibility for evenings & weekends as needed

• Facility: Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center 

• Location: Aurora, IL, 60506

 

Minimum 3 years nursing experience in a clinical or healthcare setting strongly preferred. 

Responsibilities:

The RN-Holistic will provide compassionate and comprehensive nursing care that addresses both the physical and emotional needs of patients. This role involves answering questions about diagnoses, medical treatments, medications, and procedures, while also coordinating treatment plans in collaboration with doctors. The RN-Holistic will regularly visit members in their homes, hospitals, or convalescent facilities to monitor health status and offer support during challenging times, such as bereavement. In addition to offering physical care, the RN-Holistic will serve as an advocate for their patients.  The RN-Holistic will also assist with preparing members for medical visits, offer referrals to community agencies, and provide spiritual support, including praying with members when requested.  This position supports the Community Benefits department and provides services for events and other activities as needed.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  1. Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  2. Certification in Holistic Nursing or completion of a specialized Parish Nurse/ Faith Community Nurse training program preferred.
  3. At least 3 years of nursing experience in a clinical or healthcare setting preferred.
  4. Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Knowledge and skills in spiritual care, health education, and community outreach in faith-based settings.
  6. Experience working with diverse populations, particularly in faith-based or holistic healthcare, is an asset.
