What You''ll Do: As a Registered Nurse/Clinical II, Operating Room Unit, you''ll play a vital role in ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities include:

• Clinical Resource: Act as a clinical resource for perioperative services personnel using evidence-based knowledge and prevailing standards.
• Coordination: Coordinate perioperative patient care with other members of the surgical team.
• Surgical Case Management: Perform surgical case management alongside the surgical team.
• Consultation: Serve as a consultant, advising the perioperative team in areas of specialty expertise.
• Practice Evaluation: Assist perioperative personnel in evaluating practice and creating strategies for improvement.
• Communication: Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with the perioperative team and other stakeholders.
• Education: Provide educational resources and coordinate with the perioperative educator regarding team education specific to the specialty.
• Quality Improvement: Organize quality/performance improvement activities within the specialty.
• Change Management: Facilitate and manage change within the healthcare organization.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning perioperative patient care.
• Conflict Resolution: Use effective conflict resolution techniques.
• Operational Management: Manage the specialty operationally and fiscally.
• Mentorship: Mentor team members within the specialty as required.
• Professionalism: Serve as a role model of professional behavior.
• Resource Management: Ensure that the appropriate equipment and supplies are available.
• Professional Growth: Pursue professional growth and participate in a professional organization.
• Patient Advocacy: Act as a patient advocate and maintain privacy and confidentiality of all appropriate information.

What We''re Looking For:

• Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of recent OR experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably in an acute care setting.
• Education: ADN degree required; BSN degree preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: Current California RN license, AHA BLS certification, LA City Fire Card certification within 30 days of hire, and specialty-specific certifications as required.
• OR Requirements: AHA ACLS for RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) certification preferred.

• Infection control: Adheres to Universal Precautions and infection control standards.
• Medication administration: Administers medications per hospital policy and reports errors promptly.
• Nursing process, assessment, and diagnosis: Collects and interprets patient data, formulates nursing diagnoses, and performs skills independently with validated competency.
• Patient advocate: Advocates for patient and family values, addresses hygiene needs consistently.
• Patient discharge process: Provides discharge education and plans effectively upon admission.
• Patient Satisfaction: Maintains compassionate approach, keeps patients informed, apologizes for delays, and adheres to hourly rounding policy.
• Patient Throughput: Supports initiatives for timely patient acceptance and transfer/discharge.
• PI/Evidenced-based practice: Participates in quality initiatives and PI projects.
• Professional image: Exhibits professionalism in appearance, conduct, communication, and behavior.
