This Surgical Services unit functions within Bloomington Hospital where we have 14 operating rooms and 2 open-heart rooms. The Cardiovascular Operating Room CVOR nurse functions as an integral member of the cardiovascular surgery team providing circulating support for a wide variety of cardiovascular procedures and assisting with anesthesia care specific to complex cardiac and vascular cases. The CVOR team manages a broad and diverse case mix requiring strong clinical judgment adaptability and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

In addition to CVOR responsibilities this nurse is required to circulate in the main operating room and participate in service line rotations including gynecology neurology orthopedic surgery general surgery and vascular surgery. This role also includes ensuring adherence to safety standards efficiency and high-quality patient care across all assigned specialties

Shift Requirements

CVORVariety of shifts available In addition the CVOR team is on call every 3rd weekend and 2-3-days throughout the week. Candidates must be able to be at the Bloomington facility within 30 minutes of on-call notice.

Qualifications

Requires an Associates of Nursing ASN Bachelors of Nursing BSN preferred.

Requires an active Registered Nurse RN license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact NLC RN license.

Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program. Exceptions Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer CNO.

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unitdepartment specialty according to patient care policies.
