• Contract Duration: 6 months (facility will also accept contracts of 13 or 20 weeks)
• Pay Rate: $70.00 $75.00 / Hour (USD)
• Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 3 12 Hours, 19:00 07:00. Scheduling is based on the needs of the unit. Absolutely no block schedules can be accommodated.
• Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for a Registered Nurse specializing in Cardio Thoracic ICU at a medical facility in Worcester, MA. The unit covers cardiac surgery ICU, vascular surgery, cardiac medicine, advanced heart failure, and mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, ECMO, durable VAD). The facility will accept a conditional MA license, with the understanding that the traveler is actively working through the full process to obtain a permanent license. Minimal RTO is needed, with a desired length of 3 5 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a cardiac surgery ICU environment encompassing vascular surgery, cardiac medicine, advanced heart failure, and mechanical circulatory support
• Manage and monitor patients requiring mechanical circulatory support devices including IABP, Impella, ECMO, and durable VAD
• Float to other adult ICUs as needed based on unit requirements
• Work every other weekend and holiday per facility scheduling requirements
• Document patient care using Epic electronic health records system
• Adhere to scheduling determined by the needs of the unit (no block schedules accommodated)

Required Skills

• Must have Cardiovascular ICU experience to be submitted
• Must have experience with mechanical circulatory support (IABP, Impella, ECMO, durable VAD); the unit needs strong candidates
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required

Education Requirements

• MA RN License required (facility will accept conditional MA license while traveler actively works through the full process to obtain a permanent license)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required certification

Required Experience

• 2.5 years of ICU experience required
• Must have Cardiovascular ICU experience
• Must have experience with mechanical circulatory support, as the unit needs strong candidates

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Night shift position: 19:00 07:00, 3 12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• Float to other adult ICUs as needed
• Scheduling is based on the needs of the unit; absolutely no block schedules can be accommodated
• Flu vaccine: Required medical/religious exemptions and declinations allowed
• COVID-19 vaccine: Not required

Important Notes

• Traveler will be required to pass a pass/fail tele test at orientation with 1 attempt; failure consequences should be confirmed with the recruiter
