Contract Details

  • Position Type: Contract (Travel Nursing)
  • Contract Duration: 6 months (13 26 week contracts accepted)
  • Pay Rate: $45.00 / Hour (USD)
  • Shift / Schedule: Night Shift, 3 12 Hours (18:45 07:15); 36 hours per week only
  • Weekend Requirement: 5 6 weekend shifts per contract (equates to every other weekend)
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Job Summary

This is a Cardiac Telemetry travel nursing position providing direct patient care on a unit that monitors cardiac patients. The unit manages a wide range of cardiac diagnoses including Congestive Heart Failure, Arrhythmias, and Post-Cardiac Cath patients. Floating is required as needed, with the potential to float every shift. Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team, and may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster. Consolidation to a Centralized Office mid-contract may occur, and contract staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor cardiac patients on a telemetry unit with patient ratios of 1:6 7
  • Interpret dysrhythmias and perform remote monitoring
  • Perform Pre/Post Cardiac Cath and Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery care
  • Perform Sheath Removal (Sheaths Pulls, TR Bands, Femstop)
  • Access ports and administer blood products
  • Manage central lines and PICC lines
  • Titrate cardiac drips including Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Cardizem, Milrinone, and Dopamine
  • Utilize unit systems: Pyxis (medication), EPIC (documentation), SBAR (communication)
  • Float to other units as needed per unit needs, potentially every shift
  • Participate in self-scheduling per unit needs
  • Report to work as assigned during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters as part of Storm Team/Hurricane Team assignments

Education Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • ACLS certification required
  • NIH stroke scale certification preferred
  • Must pass EKG Testing prior to start (required for this specialty)

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Night shift only; 3 12-hour shifts (18:45 07:15)
  • 36 hours per week only no exceptions
  • Weekend requirement: 5 6 weekend shifts per contract (every other weekend)
  • Floating required as needed; potential to float every shift
  • Scheduling type: Self-scheduling per unit needs
  • Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignment required; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
  • Mid-contract consolidation to Centralized Office may occur; staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Scrubs: Navy (not provided by facility)
  • Unit orientation: 24 hours

Important Notes

  • RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO on unit could result in contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
  • RTO maximum: 7 days for AYA Auto Offer positions.
  • Nurse Manager interview is required prior to finalizing the offer.
  • Candidate must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty.
