Overview:

Shift (Part-Time): Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM and Tuesday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Join our team as a Cardiac Rehab Nurse and make a meaningful impact on patients recovering from cardiac events and procedures. In this role, you will utilize the Nursing Process to coordinate and implement patient care within the cardiac rehab program under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Department Manager.

This position offers the opportunity to represent nursing within UnityPoint Health while helping improve the health of the communities we serve through compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs initial patient evaluations and develops individualized treatment plans.
  • Collects and enters patient outcomes and monitoring information into the LSI system.
  • Monitors patients during exercise, including heart rhythms, signs, and symptoms.
  • Assesses and responds appropriately to abnormal patient reactions to activity.
  • Provides education to patients on heart healthy living and lifestyle changes.
  • Collaborates with physicians by preparing treatment plans and making appropriate care recommendations.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Diploma from an RN program.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in primary state.
    • Must apply within 90 days for licensure in secondary state.
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Must possess and maintain ACLS
