Beloit Health System is adding to our team in our Cardiac ICU with immediate openings for a Registered Nurse at Beloit Memorial Hospital.

The Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Unit is responsible for managing the care of adult critically ill patients. In this position the ICU Registered Nurse will deliver critical care therapies and interventions. The ICU Registered Nurse coordinates, supervises and provides care for patients within the framework of the well/illness continuum.
The Critical Care/ICU Registered Nurse:
- Appropriately assesses basic physical, psychological and social needs of patients and their families.
- Effectively plans patient care with patient and family involvement.
- Consistently implements the patient's plan of care.
- Accurately evaluates patient's health status in relation to outcomes of nursing interventions/medical therapies.
- Provides patient/family education appropriately.
- Strictly adheres to infection control policies including body substance isolation and blood born pathogen precautions.
- Actively participates in Quality Improvement program.
- Performs unit specific duties according to established unit-based competencies.
- Completes documentation according to policy.
- Effectively sets goals and priorities for provision of care to a group of patients according to acuity.
- Ensures patient safety while handling, transporting and providing medications to patients; protects patients from various hazards, falls, disease exposure, etc.
- Demonstrates ability to perform functions accurately and efficiently with computer software application appropriate to position.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- ADN, Diploma, BSN or MSN degree acceptable.
- State of Wisconsin or multistate nursing licensure required. (Must request WI licensure within 30 days).
- Must be BLS certified within three months of hire.
- ACLS and NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Requires the ability to work independently, and to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Telemetry, Moderate sedation, and Glucometer trained within 6 months of hire.
- ASLS certification within 12 months of hire.
