Submit your application for the opportunity below: Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Staff Nurse is responsible for planning and providing individual goal directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for, and strives to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community. The nurse possesses knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the particular skills necessary to provide optimum patient care to the population for which he or she is employed. The Cardiac Cath RN is accountable for their practice and care coordination and with emphasis on the adult patient receiving invasive, diagnostic, and interventional procedures. The RN is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices. What You Will Do In This Role:Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the adult patient receiving invasive, diagnostic, and interventional proceduresPromote and maintain a safe and therapeutic cardiovascular invasive lab environment.Provide high quality care -pre, post, and during proceduresEvaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process.Hemodynamic and EKG monitoring including interpretation of information obtainedAdministration of Sedation Analgesia and monitoring patients responseManagement of high-risk intravenous therapies.Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care.Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.Delegate tasks to the appropriate personnelBasic knowledge of purpose CVI supplies while assisting in Inventory control and orderingBasic computer knowledgeParticipate in Cardiovascular Department specific initiatives and process improvement.Promote a supportive environment.What qualifications you will need:Graduate of an Accredited school of nursingAssociate's Degree required, BSN/MSN preferredTX State RN license or compact licensed requiredBLS required issued by the American Heart Association or American Red CrossNational specialty certification preferredMust have at least 1 year recent RN Cath Lab ExperienceBenefits Medical City Plano, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
