Job Summary

This is a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night-shift position on a Behavioral Health unit serving adult patients (18 years and older) with behavioral health diagnoses as the primary reason for admission. The majority of patients present with multiple medical comorbidities, and Dementia with Behavioral Disturbance accounts for approximately 60 70% of the patient population. The unit also cares for individuals with Alzheimer's, depression, anxiety, mania, psychosis, and all other mental illness diagnoses for older adults.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to adult behavioral health patients, including those with Dementia with Behavioral Disturbance, Alzheimer's, depression, anxiety, mania, and psychosis.
• Float to other units at the Thomasville facility when needed.
• Float to the Forsyth behavioral health unit if needed.
• Participate in unit orientation (36 hours).
• Utilize unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR, computers, dynamaps, and other unit-specific tools.
• Follow unit protocols including unit geography, visitation limits, patient handbook, and care plans.
• Support ECT procedures as needed (performed in the surgical suite, not on the unit).
• Utilize facility equipment including lifts, rolling recliners, Voalte phones, walkers, and shower chairs.

Required Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience required.
• Unit will not accept first-time travelers.
• BLS certification required.
• MOAB certification required.

Preferred Skills

• Gerontology Certification (ANCC).
• Psych/Mental Health Certificate.

Education Requirements

• Current RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required.
• MOAB certification required.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Prior travel nurse experience required (unit will not accept first-time travelers).

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

• Night shift: 12-hour shifts, 18:45 07:15, Friday through Sunday.
• Floating is required to other units at the Thomasville facility and potentially to the Forsyth behavioral health unit.
• No weekend requirement beyond the scheduled Friday Sunday shift.
• Unit accepts 36-hour or 48-hour weekly schedules.
• Scrubs: Navy blue or white.
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only).
• COVID-19 vaccination: Not required.

Important Notes

• RTO (Return to Origin) after booking is NOT allowed and is NOT allowed to be worked out onsite.
• Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in a contract cancellation and DNR (Do Not Rehire).
• Unit orientation is 36 hours.
• Local candidates are accepted; a local rate difference applies.
