Shift & Schedule
- Primary Shift: Days – 8 Hours (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Alternate Schedules:
- 2x12-hour shifts + 2x8-hour shifts
- 5x8-hour shifts
Compensation
- Travel Pay Rate: $58 – $67 per hour
- Local Pay Rate:$50 – $58 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality psychiatric nursing care in a structured clinical environment. The RN will be responsible for medication administration, patient assessments, and maintaining a safe and therapeutic setting for patients with behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications for up to 25 patients per shift.
- Conduct and document nursing assessments.
- Complete shift notes and assigned weekly/monthly documentation.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to foster a therapeutic milieu.
- Participate in unit activities alongside Mental Health Therapy Aides.
- Function as Charge RN when assigned, supporting overall unit operations.
- Ensure compliance with all clinical, safety, and documentation standards.
Work Environment Expectations
- Work collaboratively in units that may have 2–3 RNs per shift.
- All nursing staff are expected to actively engage with patients and support therapeutic care delivery.
- Maintain professionalism and adhere to all facility policies and procedures.
Overtime Policy
- Overtime must be pre-approved by nursing leadership.
- Overtime is generally limited and only approved when necessary due to staffing gaps.
Shift Swapping Policy
- All shift swaps require prior approval from nursing leadership.
- Proper documentation must be completed and signed by both parties involved.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Prior experience in behavioral health or psychiatric nursing.
- Strong documentation and clinical assessment skills.
- Ability to manage multiple patients and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
