Summary
The registered nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient centered care, under the direction of the department manager, supervisor, and charge nurse. Proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current State of Nevada licensure as Registered Nurse or Interim Permit.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Within six (6) months of hire, completes the Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training Course
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Certification:
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Registered Nurse (PMHN)
- Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH-BC)
- Certified Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (CMS-RN)
- Experience in a Behavioral Health facility
Essential Functions
- Has knowledge of and adheres to Carson Tahoe Health's policies, procedures, and unit standards of care.
- Attends 75% of scheduled staff meetings/unit conferences. Attends/completes 100% of all required Unit and Hospital education and Employee Health annual requirements by the established deadlines.
- Maintains required license and certification requirements on provided platform.
- Maintains competencies to reflect current skill level.
- Self identifies and seeks guidance when encountering nursing procedures and
- Responsibilities that have not been mastered. Seeks out and communicates need for additional learning experiences.
- Appropriately identifies changes in patients' presentation and communicates changes to the care team.
- Adheres to performing/receiving bedside handover as per organizational standards.
- Accepts accountability for clinical care of assigned patients, including supervision of non-professional personnel.
- Identifies patient teaching needs and provides elementary instructions for the patient and his or her family.
- Develops, reviews, modifies, and implements comprehensive plan of care.
- Responds appropriately in urgent and/or emergency situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
