Salary Range: $34.25 - $51.13/hr. (Based on Experience) + Benefits
Shift Difference: $4.00 Nights & $3.25 Weekends

Job Description:   
  • We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg team in Dixon, IL. The RN will provide high-quality patient care for a diverse adult patient population in a fast-paced acute care environment. Candidates should possess strong clinical assessment skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
Unit Information:
  • 4th Floor: 23 Beds
  • 3rd Floor: 14 Beds
  • Patient Ratio: Ideal 1:5 (can flex up to 1:6)
  • PCT Ratio: 1:8
Common Diagnoses:
  • NSTEMI
  • COPD
  • Pneumonia (PNA)
  • Sepsis
  • Acute Kidney Injury (AKI)
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safe and effective nursing care to Med Surg patients
  • Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and care planning
  • Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to providers
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
  • Document accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies
  • Review and sign off telemetry strips throughout the shift
  • Support patient education and discharge planning
Requirements:
  • Active RN License (State of Illinois or Compact License)
  • Minimum 1 year of Med Surg nursing experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong critical thinking and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Additional Information
  • Charge Nurse and House Supervisor support available
  • Telemetry monitoring on unit; monitored by MTs with RN sign-off required
  • No titration of drips required
  • Respiratory support includes home units and Heated High Flow
  • Floating may occur to:
    • CU (if experienced)
    • ER (if experienced)
    • BHC (if experienced)
    • Otherwise, no floating outside Med Surg
Schedule Requirements:
  • Every other weekend required
  • Every other holiday required
  • No on-call requirement
  • Low census may occur occasionally but is rare
Orientation & Dress Code:
  • 1 shift department-specific orientation provided
  • Orientation binder supplied with unit details
  • Any scrub color permitted
  • Close-toed shoes required
  • Professional appearance and good hygiene expected
