Position Summary:
The Dietician position assists in the successful operation of Food & Nutrition Services. The Dietician will assist in the responsibility for all foodservice-related activities; including patient care, non-patient care, quality improvement, sanitation, infection control and all hospital related activities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive nutritional assessments
Develop and implement individualized nutrition and weight management plans
Provide one-on-one nutrition counseling and ongoing patient education
Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed
Document clinical notes and patient outcomes accurately in the medical record
Collaborate with surgeons, providers, and clinical staff as part of a multidisciplinary care team
Support patients before and after surgical procedures with evidence-based nutrition strategies
Qualifications
Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) credential
Active Illinois state licensure (or eligibility)
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field (Master’s preferred)
Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and weight management
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative healthcare team
