In this role, you'll provide optimal nutritional care by effectively identifying age specific patient needs, assessing nutritional status, designing appropriate care plans and monitoring to maximize clinical outcomes. Provides evidence-based nutritional information and guidance to physicians, staff, patients, and families.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Exceptional Patient Care: Develops and implements patient specific nutritional care plans, interventions, and goals as per Nutrition Practice Guidelines and Clinical Nutrition Policies.

  • Excellent Communicator: Provides information on MNT to physicians and other allied health care team members as needed. Provides guidance to Diet Technicians to ensure appropriate MNT is being delivered to patients.

  • Excellent Educator: Monitors for food and drug interactions and makes appropriate interventions. Educates patients on Food/Drug interactions when appropriate.

  • Technical Familiarity: Documents all assessments, patient education, nutrition care plans, interventions, and goals in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) utilizing Standardized Language and Nutrition Care Process.

  • Active Teamwork: Confers with physicians and other allied health care team members to clarify orders, recommends appropriate MNT and exchange patient information.

Work Hours/Shift:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Days

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, or related field.

  • Registration as a dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and a state licensure as a licensed dietitian/nutritionist (LDN) are required. Maintenance of registration and licensure required as per guidelines. Position requires a minimum of one (1) year of experience as a dietitian, preferably in a healthcare environment.

  • Work requires the analytical ability to collect information from diverse sources, synthesize a problem list and to devise/implement intervention.

  • Work requires effective verbal and written communication skills, which may include explaining clinical, technical concepts to physicians, other health care team members, patients, and their families. Enforces policies and regulations in difficult situations or performs other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.

  • Allergen Awareness training/certificate and Serv Safe Management training/certificate preferred.
