Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs CT and X-Ray Procedures at a technical level which does not require supervision, and assumes the responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Receives and performs other duties as assigned.

What you will do in this role:

• Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribes safety standards

• Selects proper technical protocols on an individual patient basis

• Assesses risk for falls and implements appropriate safety precautions

• Demonstrates knowledge of fluid needs

• Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

• Ensures equipment maintenance is performed regularly and according to regulatory and/or accreditation standards.

• Demonstrates knowledge of medications to be administered, including the medication’s effects, side effects and potential adverse reactions.

• Maintains adequate records as directed.

Service

• Ability to assess, interpret age specific data, knowledge of growth and development, and to provide age specific care.

• Understands the range of treatment needed by specific age group.

• Positions and transfers patients.

• Assists physician in administering contrast media and practices sterile techniques when necessary.

• Is familiar with standards of care for ages specified.

People

• Determines priority on patient care and completes work within appropriate time frame.

• Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department.

• Maintains ethical relationships with patients and peers.

• Possesses communication skills necessary to interpret age specific response to treatment.

• Ability to involve patient/family/ significant other in decision making related to plan of care.

• Supports physician partnerships.

What qualifications you will need:
  • (ARRT-R) Radiography
  • Associate Degree
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, or CPR for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (CT) Computed Tomography, or (ARRT-CT) Computed Tomography must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
