Community Options, Inc., is seeking Full-Time and Part-TimeRegistered Behavior Technician to support adults residing in both traditional and Specialized Supported Living Homes in Smyrna, TN. Registered behavior technicians use best practices, evidenced-based ABA interventions,  and trauma informed care to teach the critical skills needed for each individual to live a meaningful and independent life.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience with crisis management, de-escalation practices, preventative procedures, and implementing individualized behavior interventions with individuals with autism, intellectual disability, and co-occurring mental health and psychiatric disorders. Starting pay is $23-$25/ per hour based on experience

Responsibilities
  • Provide onsite 1:1 and group ABA therapy to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through evidence based and data driven methodologies that include trauma informed care and positive behavior supports
  • Implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan and model interventions for caregivers
  • Assist with crisis de-escalation and provide in-person or remote crisis support as needed
  • Complete daily session notes on the provision and effectiveness of the behavior plan and strategies
  • Participate in team meetings and provide frequent collaboration with the participant’s care team
  • Collect daily data on progress and work collaboratively to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization
  • Employees must cooperate with any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports
  • Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with participants receiving supports
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and graph data
  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, stand or walk for up to an hour, and bend, stoop, and crouch.
