    Responsible for the safe, compliant, and profitable end-to-end delivery of water hygiene plumbing, technical installations, and remedial works across designated regions-encompassing hands-on technical execution, site surveying, tender costing, sub-contractor oversight, and the direct training and mentorship of field-based engineers, while providing key technical advice and support to the UK Technical Manager, sales, and account management teams to drive regional performance, maintain client SLAs, and maximize project margins.

    You'll be responsible for:

    • Carry out water hygiene plumbing, remedial work, technical repairs, and installations in line with company procedures and method statements, including Pressurisation units, hot water calorifiers, CWST Replacement, Relining, water treatment, closed loop/chilled systems, water softeners, and general pipework alterations.
    • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with client requirements, scope, specification, and agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
    • Ensure all work records and forms (manual and electronic system-based) are complete and accurate.
    • Ensure all Health & Safety procedures are followed, recorded, and maintained in accordance with company policy.
    • Ensure all arrangements for site visits with clients are made in a timely and professional manner.
    • Provide technical support, assistance, and information to the Service Manager, Contracts Manager, Account Managers, and UK Technical Manager to resolve non-conformance and operational issues.
    • Carry out site surveys to enable the sales and account management team to issue accurate quoting and tenders.
    • Attend client meetings to support sales and account management teams with technical expertise.
    • Delivering site-based project work and ensuring maximum productivity and profit potential in a safe working environment.
    • Assist with the management of Health and Safety arrangements, including the creation and delivery of Tool Box Talks and RAMS for field-based operations staff.
    • Assist with the training, mentoring, and technical development of field-based operations staff and technical engineers.
    • Work closely with office teams to optimize scheduling, improve operative performance, and meet regional revenue and profitability targets.
    • Assist Technical Services and Contracts Managers in managing staff, materials, sub-contractors, and operational compliance with company QMS procedures.
    • Carry out site-based work and any other reasonable tasks as required.

    About you

    • Effective communication with good telephone and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization and with 3rd parties.
    • Ability to proactively identify problems, make decisions, and take appropriate action to reach a resolution.
    • Ability to attain an accurate and consistent standard of service while working to strict deadlines.
    • Ability to work on own initiative and positively as a team member, with strong leadership and supervisory skills to motivate field staff.
    • Computer literacy, with the ability to effectively use Microsoft Office packages and bespoke software/databases.
    • Good organisational, timekeeping, and time-management skills with a professional attitude.
    • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to deliver maintenance within specified budgets/timeframes and maximize project profitability.
    • Highly technical understanding of air and water treatment, complex water systems, and legionella control.
    • Ability to understand, create, and deliver Health and Safety procedures (RAMS) for multi-skilled field staff in line with contractual obligations.
    • Ability to liaise effectively with clients, manage SLAs, and represent the department in a professional and cooperative manner.
    • Flexibility and willingness to travel to regional sites as requested by management.

    Must haves

    • Regulatory Knowledge: Sound working knowledge and comprehensive understanding of key water safety frameworks, including HSE's ACoP L8, HSG274, HSG282, and HTM 04-01.
    • Plumbing Qualifications: Minimum of a Level 2 Technical Plumbing Certificate (or equivalent), with Level 3 preferred for senior roles.
    • System Certifications & Compliance: Valid Unvented Hot Water Systems (G3) certification with an excellent, practical understanding of Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations.
    • Industry Experience: Proven track record delivering commercial plumbing, water hygiene, and technical remedial works (2+ to 5+ years).
    • Health & Safety Governance: Hands-on experience developing and implementing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for field personnel.
    • Leadership & Supervision: Demonstrated experience supervising, mentoring, and upskilling field-based engineers and sub-contractors.
