Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) drives profitable growth within an assigned region through new customer acquisition, distributor development, and account expansion. This role blends strategic territory planning with hands-on sales execution to achieve sales and margin objectives.

The RSM must reside within the assigned U.S. region and be able to travel up to 60% overnight.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Drive profitable regional sales growth through new business development and expansion of existing accounts.
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan identifying key growth targets and strategic accounts.
  • Generate new opportunities through data mining, cold calling, lead follow-up, and networking with end users, mechanical contractors, architects, and distributors.
  • Collaborate with Market Development, Business Development, Marketing, and Inside Sales teams to build relationships with regional architects, specifiers, and key construction partners; identify strategic opportunities; and align initiatives to penetrate target customer applications.
  • Provide consultative sales support—understanding customer needs and recommending the right product or system solutions.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer by gathering competitive intelligence, pricing trends, and product feedback for internal teams.
  • Assess competitive activity and implement regional strategies to maximize revenue and profitability. 
  • Represent RapidAir at trade shows, industry events, and association meetings to strengthen relationships and promote brand awareness.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and maintaining a focus on long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, forecast, and account data within Salesforce CRM.
  • Participate in sales meetings, planning sessions, and training programs.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven success in developing relationships with decision-makers and closing complex deals.
  • Strong strategic thinking and territory planning skills.
  • Knowledge of sales principles and account management best practices.
  • Technical aptitude for industrial or system-based products.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Analytical ability to assess performance metrics and trends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
  • Willingness to travel up to 60% overnight; valid U.S. driver’s license required. Commitment to company policies and ethical business practices.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of outside industrial or channel sales experience.
  • Experience in construction, industrial, or architectural building materials preferred.
  • Familiarity with compressed air, automation, or mechanical systems a plus.
  • CRM (Salesforce) and forecasting experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate clearly, travel long distances, and lift sales samples (up to 40 lbs).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening required.
