Job Title: Regional Manager

Location: Scranton, PA

Company: Dunder Mifflin Paper Company, Inc.

Department: Sales & Regional Operations

Reports To: Corporate (and occasionally, no one)

About the Role

The Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations, sales performance, and employee morale within the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin. This role requires a strong leader who can drive results, inspire a diverse group of personalities, and occasionally mediate conflicts involving office pranks, hurt feelings, or misunderstandings about workplace professionalism.

The ideal candidate balances business acumen with a people-first leadership style and understands that paper is not just paper—it’s personal.

Preferred Traits

  • Deep loyalty to employees (sometimes to a fault)
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Thick skin and high emotional intelligence
  • Willingness to host meetings, parties, and morale-boosting events
  • Appreciation for teamwork, inside jokes, and the power of a good sales call

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary with performance-based incentives
  • Health benefits and retirement plan
  • Opportunities for career growth (corporate may or may not notice)
  • A unique office environment where no two days are the same
  • The chance to be part of a close-knit team that feels more like a family

Dunder Mifflin is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity, inclusion, and employees who can sell paper and keep the office together.

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all branch operations, including sales, customer relationships, and day-to-day office activities
  • Drive regional revenue growth by motivating the sales team and maintaining key client accounts
  • Set branch goals and ensure alignment with corporate strategy (even when corporate doesn’t explain it well)
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and occasionally fun workplace culture
  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Resolve employee conflicts ranging from minor disagreements to full-scale office chaos
  • Represent the branch in corporate meetings, audits, and leadership initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal regulations, and basic HR norms
  • Manage budgets, expenses, and resource allocation for the branch

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field (or equivalent real-world experience)
  • 5+ years of management experience, preferably in sales or a regional leadership role
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and retain a team with very different personalities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure—especially during fire drills, surprise inspections, or award ceremonies
  • Comfortable with public speaking, improv-level humor, and occasional awkward silence
