Overview
Our client is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to support a major data center construction project in Montgomery, Alabama. This individual will play a critical role in driving a “safety-first” culture across all jobsite activities while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company safety protocols.
This position is highly field-focused, requiring strong collaboration with project teams, leadership, and field personnel to proactively identify risks, implement safety programs, and maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a safety leader on-site, promoting a culture where safety is the top priority across all operations
Partner with project management and field teams to identify, evaluate, and control hazardous working conditions
Deliver and coordinate safety training programs, including PPE, fall protection, heavy equipment operation, LOTO, trenching/excavation, confined space, and OSHA standards
Maintain a strong field presence (approximately 75% field / 25% administrative)
Conduct regular jobsite inspections, audits, and safety reviews; ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked
Lead incident response efforts, including injury, property damage, and near-miss investigations, and support root cause analysis
Develop, implement, and maintain site-specific safety programs and procedures
Support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and promote hazard recognition in the field
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards
Interface with third-party safety platforms and compliance systems (e.g., contractor prequalification tools)
Partner with leadership on safety metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with new hire safety orientations and ongoing training documentation
Accompany regulatory inspectors during site visits as needed
Support driver safety programs and general risk management efforts
Travel as required to support regional safety initiatives
Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of construction safety experience
Experience supporting large-scale construction or industrial projects preferred
Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
Ability to identify hazards and implement effective corrective actions
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Certifications (Required/Preferred):
BCSP Certification (required)
OSHA 30 (required)
CPR/First Aid Certification (required)
OSHA 500 (Train-the-Trainer) – preferred
OSHA 510 – preferred
CHST – preferred
