Position Description

This position is for a Regional Orthopedic Site Supervisor for MidState Medical Center and Hospital of Central Connecticut.

In addition to direct patient care responsibilities, the Site Supervisor ensures that high quality, cost effective services are delivered in support of the organizations strategic plan, goals and objectives. The Site Supervisor also manages site resources: human, material, and financial, in order to ensure quality, cost-effective delivery of patient services for specific patient populations who require the needs of outpatient physical therapy. This is accomplished either by direct action, delegation or coaching and support of self-directed work teams or individuals. The primary responsibility is approximately 80% patient treatment, and 20% administrative time.

Job Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with Director, establishes, develops, and maintains effective relationships, working agreements and quality partnerships, to secure resources to support patient care and to assure compliance with current standards relevant to the patient population.
  • Assesses staff performance of expectations and coaches, mentors, develops and evaluates employees to achieve behaviors congruent with the organization''s vision, mission and values, in a continuous learning environment.
  • Acts quickly to resolve customer, patient, client problems or complaints using their judgment and our policies.
  • Work effectively as a team leader with the on-site staff and with customers to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration. Demonstrates characteristics and independent thinking that reflect a commitment to exceptional customer services and the achievement of overall company strategic goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining site compliance with setting policies and procedures, and remains within standards set by accrediting bodies such as Joint Commission and DPH.

Qualifications

  • Physical or Occupational Therapist License in the state of CT.

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or appropriate certifications. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of orthopedic experience.

  • Experience leading and directing employees required.

  • Strong communication skills required - both verbal and written.

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as electronic health records and other software applications.
