Regional Operations Manager HIGHLIGHTS Location: Phoenix, AZPosition Type: Direct HireHourly / Salary: Based on ExperienceResidency Status: US Citizen or Green Card Holder ONLY Overview A multi-disciplinary engineering and consulting organization is seeking a Regional Operations Manager to lead and oversee regional business operations, project delivery, and team performance . This executive-level role is responsible for driving operational excellence, financial performance, workforce development, and strategic growth across multiple service lines. The Regional Operations Manager will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals, client satisfaction, and long-term business objectives , while fostering a collaborative and high-performing regional culture. Core ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership & Regional Oversight Lead day-to-day regional operations , including staffing, resource allocation, and production management Oversee performance across multiple disciplines (e.G., engineering, surveying, planning, and related services) Ensure alignment with organizational strategy, policies, and operational standards Drive consistency in processes, reporting, and service delivery across the region Provide regular reporting on performance metrics, project pipeline, and resource utilization Financial Management & Business Performance Own regional profit and loss (P&L) performance , including revenue, cost control, and profitability Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial projections Monitor utilization rates, billing practices, and operational efficiency Ensure accurate financial reporting, invoicing standards, and revenue tracking Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational performance Strategic Growth & Business Development Drive regional growth strategy , including market expansion and client acquisition Build and maintain strong client relationships and strategic partnerships Collaborate with marketing and business development teams to develop pipeline and revenue opportunities Support and oversee proposal development, contract strategy, and pursuit planning Represent the organization in industry events, client meetings, and public forums Team Leadership & Talent Development Lead, coach, and develop multi-disciplinary teams and department leaders Oversee hiring, workforce planning, and talent acquisition strategies Drive employee engagement, retention, and performance management Establish and monitor individual and team performance goals Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and leadership development initiatives Project & Technical Oversight Provide high-level oversight of project management and technical delivery Support teams in complex project execution, risk management, and issue resolution Ensure adherence to quality standards, QA/QC processes, and regulatory requirements Maintain involvement in project planning, execution strategies, and team structure optimization Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with executive leadership and internal stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and company-wide goals Collaborate across regions to ensure consistency, resource sharing, and operational alignment Resolve inter-regional and cross-functional challenges related to staffing, delivery, and performance Participate in organizational decision-making and strategic planning efforts Process Improvement & Organizational Initiatives Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency and scalability Implement systems for performance tracking, reporting accuracy, and workflow optimization Champion at least one company-wide initiative or strategic program annually Support development and execution of short- and long-term business strategies Qualifications & ExperienceExperience 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, consulting, or related professional services Minimum 5+ years of experience in project management and leadership roles Proven experience managing regional operations, multi-disciplinary teams, and business performance Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence Education & Certifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required Technical Competencies Strong understanding of civil engineering design, project delivery, and consulting services Expertise in financial management, budgeting, and P&L oversight Experience with resource planning, utilization tracking, and operational reporting Knowledge of project lifecycle management, QA/QC processes, and regulatory compliance Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management/reporting tools Professional Skills Executive-level leadership, decision-making, and strategic thinking Strong business acumen and operational management capabilities Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills Proven ability to build and lead high-performing, cross-functional teams Advanced organizational, planning, and prioritization skills Ability to manage complex operations in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment High level of accountability, professionalism, and client-focused mindset Additional Information Role includes oversight of regional operations, financial performance, and team leadership Active involvement in strategic planning, business development, and organizational initiatives Combination of office-based leadership, client engagement, and collaboration across teams Opportunity to shape and scale regional growth and operational excellence "We are GTN –The Go To Network "
