POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional General Manager (RGM) provides strategic and operational leadership over multiple operating locations within an assigned geographic region. This role has full accountability for regional performance across trucking, wastewater processing, composting, railyard, and related operations.

The RGM oversees multiple location General Managers and/or Operations Managers, ensuring consistency in execution, compliance, financial discipline, and culture across the region. The role owns regional P&L results, drives operational excellence, and partners closely with Sales, Safety, HR, Finance, and IT to scale the business sustainably.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Regional Leadership & Strategy
  • Provide executive-level leadership for all locations within the assigned region.
  • Set and execute regional operating strategy aligned with company-wide objectives.
  • Translate corporate priorities into consistent regional execution.

Multi?Site Operations Oversight
  • Direct oversight of multiple locations, including indirect leadership of General Managers and Operations Managers.
  • Standardize operating processes, performance expectations, and reporting across markets.
  • Ensure capacity planning, asset utilization, and workforce deployment supports regional demand.

Financial & P&L Accountability
  • Own full regional P&L, including revenue growth, margin management, and cost control.
  • Develop and manage annual regional budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics; implement corrective actions as needed.

People Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop senior site leadership to build a strong leadership pipeline.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and HR on hiring, succession planning, and retention strategies.
  • Promote a high-performing, accountability-driven culture across all sites.

Safety & Compliance
  • Champion a proactive and consistent safety culture across all regional operations.
  • Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, DOT, and safety regulations.
  • Review safety data, audit findings, and incident trends; drive corrective actions.

Cross?Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as senior regional partner to Sales, Safety, HR, Accounting/Finance, IT, and Maintenance.
  • Support major customer relationships and regional business development efforts.
  • Represent WRM in customer, community, and industry engagements as appropriate.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify regional operational inefficiencies and lead improvement initiatives.
  • Drive standardization, scalability, and best-practice sharing across locations.
  • Address complex performance challenges with urgency and data-driven decision-making.
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provides direct leadership and supervision of regional support staff.
  • Exercises direct managerial responsibility for multiple Operations Managers and/or General Managers across assigned locations.
  • Accountable for leadership development, performance management, coaching, and succession planning for regional and site-level leadership.
  • Ensures consistent application of company policies, operating standards, and performance expectations across all locations within the region.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred). MBA is preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressively responsible operations leadership experience.
  • Proven success managing multi-site or regional operations.
  • 7+ years of P&L responsibility.
  • Strong financial acumen and operational analytics capability.
  • Experience in environmental services, industrial services, logistics, construction, or similar asset-heavy industries.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Frequent regional travel between operating locations.
  • Up to 30–40% travel, depending on region size and maturity.
