Regional Maintenance Manager

Chewy is seeking a strategic, people-first Regional Maintenance Manager (RMM) to lead maintenance and reliability performance across a region of fulfillment centers (East or West). This leader will translate network strategy into regional execution through disciplined operating cadence, performance management, talent development, and cross-site standardization. The RMM is a high-impact people leader responsible for developing Maintenance Managers and strengthening bench/succession across the region while driving safety, reliability, and cost results.

Reporting & Scope

  • Reports to: Associate Director, Maintenance & Reliability
  • Scope: Owns maintenance execution performance across an assigned East region of fulfillment centers
  • Requires proficiency in both MHE/automation systems and base building fundamentals

What You'll Do:

Regional Leadership & Execution

  • Own regional performance across safety, reliability/uptime, cost, and people outcomes, ensuring consistent execution of maintenance standards across sites.
  • Drive execution across the region, ensuring delivery of network priorities and sustained results.
  • Establish and run a strong regional operating cadence to review KPIs, remove barriers, and accelerate best-practice adoption across sites.

People Leadership

  • Lead through Maintenance Managers and site leadership: coach, develop, and hold leaders accountable to expectations, standard work, and outcomes.
  • Build bench strength: talent reviews, succession planning, promotion readiness, and targeted development plans for site leaders.
  • Reinforce a culture of ownership, high standards, and psychological safety—where performance and accountability are clear and consistent.

Standardization & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive consistency in maintenance execution: planning/scheduling discipline, PM compliance, work quality, defect elimination, and escalation pathways.
  • Identify systemic gaps and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to implement durable corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Operations, Safety, Finance, Engineering and external vendors to align priorities, unblock execution, and ensure operational readiness.

What You'll Need

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, reliability, facilities, or industrial operations; multi-site leadership strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead leaders (manager-of-managers), build talent pipelines, and drive accountability.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • MHE/automation, conveyance/sortation systems, and reliability practices
    • Base building systems and facility asset fundamentals
  • Proven results delivering improvements in safety, uptime, cost, and team performance.
  • Financial acumen: operating cost management, basic CAPEX/OPEX understanding, and performance tradeoffs.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region (anticipated 30–50%, based on network needs).

Why This Role Matters

This role strengthens regional execution, cadence, standard work, and escalation pathways—while creating a clear leadership growth track for strong operators who want broader impact without leaving the execution lane.
