Join the World-Class Environmental Compliance Culture at AWS
As a Regional Environmental Engineer, you will lead the environmental regulatory compliance function of your assigned area. You will be responsible for advancing environmental compliance culture and improving the regulatory adherence of our data centers, by protecting the environment through environmental incident prevention, investigation, and mitigation. Each day you will work with our data center community, the people who make the cloud go. They are working with sources of air emissions, such as emergency backup generators, large scale water and wastewater systems, and handling waste from critical IT equipment.
You will work closely with experts in security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to further the global environmental compliance program. You will use data to evaluate trends related to leading and lagging indicators to help your customer focus on environmental regulatory compliance. You will partner with employees as well as contractors to achieve environmental compliance goals and improve our already strong compliance culture. As AWS increases data capacity, you will partner with construction managers to ensure environmental risks are identified and mitigated prior to live operations. You will work in a fast-paced environment where our operations are rapidly changing, advocating compliant changes in the face of new infrastructure, new tools, and new products/processes.
