Position Overview:

UES is looking for a Regional HR Leader to serve as a strategic business partner and operational leader across the region, driving execution of comprehensive people and talent strategies throughout multiple branch locations. This role supports regional leadership in enhancing organizational effectiveness, workforce & succession planning, M&A activities, all anchored by our core values of STRIVE. Responsibilities:

What you'll do: 

  • Partner with regional and local leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives and operational needs.
  • Lead the regional implementation & execution of talent programs 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on engagement, culture, change management, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure consistent and compliant administration of HR policies and procedures across all sites, in alignment with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Oversee employee relations within the region, including coaching, conflict resolution, investigations, and risk mitigation; partner with legal as appropriate.
  • Lead the integration of acquisitions and support organizational transformation projects.
  • Use data and HR metrics to monitor trends, identify opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop regional HR team members; foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence.

Qualifications:

What you'll bring: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; HR certification (SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR) preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role supporting multi-site or regional operations.
  • Demonstrated success in both strategic planning and tactical HR execution, with a focus on employee engagement, talent development, and organizational change.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices across multiple states.
  • Experience coaching leaders and influencing change at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with HR technologies and systems; experience using HRIS and collaboration tools.
  • Effective communicator with exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Industry experience in environmental services, engineering, construction, or professional services is a plus.
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed (up to 40%).
Travel Requirements:

This position requires moderate travel, approximately up to 40% of the time, in support of business 
objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on
project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may
be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and
use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
  • The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
  • The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
  • The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
