Job Overview

This is a hands-on, field-based leadership role for experienced operators who thrive on coaching leaders, enforcing standards, and driving results through others.

The Area Manager's primary function is to multiply results through General Managers by inspecting execution, coaching behaviors, reinforcing expectations, and taking decisive action to drive performance across a portfolio of clubs.

Area Managers lead by presence. You will spend the majority of your time in clubs, actively coaching General Managers, inspecting execution against standards, and ensuring sales discipline, operations consistency, and brand expectations are met. Success in this role is measured by portfolio-level results, GM effectiveness, and the consistent execution of the Anytime Fitness playbook.

80% travel is required to ensure visible leadership, real-time coaching, and on-the-floor execution.

What We Expect

  • Drive and deliver membership and revenue growth across all assigned clubs.
  • Own portfolio performance by translating club-level sales data into clear actions that improve execution and results.
  • Hold GMs accountable to activity metrics, appointment generation, tours, close rate, member attrition, and net member growth.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop high-performing General Managers, build a strong leadership bench and succession pipeline.
  • Coach GMs on sales execution, people management, and operational excellence through regular 1:1s, in club visits, and performance reviews.
  • Inspect execution and correct in real time, including:
    • Sales process performance (lead generation, tour experience, point of sales behaviors)
    • Lead nurturing and appointment discipline
    • GM presence, time on floor expectation, and leadership behaviors.
  • Set clear expectations and take decisive corrective action when standards or results are not met.
  • Ensure clubs are clean, safe, well-maintained and welcoming environments aligned with brand and operational standards.
  • Serve as an ambassador of the Anytime Fitness brand, safety protocols, and leadership expectations.

What You Bring

  •  1+yrs of multi-unit management responsibility.
  • Proven ability to maximize sales opportunities, achieve sales goals, and coach others.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and drive accountability.
  • Comfort using data and metrics to manage performance.
  • Strong communication, influence, and decision-making skills to effectively interact with staff, peers, and designated Regional VP.
  • Ability to prioritize, travel between clubs, and operate independently in the field.
  • High energy, ownership mindset and bias for action.

This role is ideal for leaders who have mastered the GM position and are ready to scale impact through others while driving results, developing talent, and elevating performance across multiple locations.
