As a Regional CDL Driver, you will play an important role in keeping freight moving safely and on schedule while representing the company with customers, vendors, and co-workers in a professional manner.

Responsibilities


  • Drive a tractor trailer on intrastate and interstate routes to deliver to various shippers and receivers.
  •  Safely operate a tractor-trailer on scheduled interstate routes between Chicago, Illinois, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 
  • Complete all routes safely in accordance with company policies and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Communicate and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers to ensure services and duties are executed according to preferred work methods and customer service practices.
  • Perform required safety checks, including pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor, truck, and trailer, and report safety issues or repair needs.
  • Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and immediately report safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailers to confirm freight is properly loaded and secured, perform count checks, review customer invoices, and complete required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route delivery schedule.
  • Ensure the tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured at all times.
  • Keep trailers free of trash and debris after each delivery.
  • Complete daily hours-of-service records and logs in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in the tractor and loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Experience


3-12 months of commercial driving experience


Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent
  • Valid CDL A
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to communicate with dispatchers about load updates or issues and with mechanics regarding updates or issues with the tractor or trailer
Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with hand-held point of delivery scanning systems (i.e. POD)
  • Customer service-related work experience
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
