The Role

The purpose of the Regional Advocate is to ensure that each victim/survivor that is identified and referred to More Too Life has access to a comprehensive
set of victim support services based on their individual needs. Additionally, the Regional Advocate serves as the primary point of contact with the local community and is the point person on the Outreach Team regarding any and all services to be accessed by victims served by the Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Adheres to standard protocols and procedures as outlined by More Too Life (Ongoing 100%)
  • When on call, leads the 24/7 crisis intervention; (2%)
  • Works alongside the Survivor-Mentor to utilize established More Too Life guidelines to assess the victim’s needs and uses their in-depth knowledge of the services and benefits available, to verify victim’s eligibility for those services/benefits; (30%)
  • Coordinates services for immediate health and safety and emergency assistance; (5%)
  • Coordinates mental health assistance such as counseling and group treatment; (5%)
  • Serves as a professional resource for the victim/survivor and referral agencies to ensure continuity of care; (10%)
  • Develops relationships with service providers, law enforcement, governmental agencies, nongovernmental organizations and clinicians and other key stakeholders to assist victims and families with navigating the various systems and services and ensuring that support services are readily available as needed; (20%)
  • Works collaboratively with More Too Life Clinicians, Survivor-Mentors and Victim Services Coordinators to ensure that the needs of victims are met through the development of a wellness plan; (20%)
  • Participates in training and education activities as required by More Too Life; (2%)
  • Completes documentation as required by funding entities, courts and referral sources; ( 2%)
  • Provides feedback, including participation in surveys, interviews, reports and other data collection mechanisms to help inform More Too Life about service gaps and outcomes of service provision in the designated area; (2%)
  • Other duties as assigned based on programmatic needs. (2%)

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding and experience in providing direct care and coordinated services to trauma victims
  • Ability to solve complex, practical problems and effectively deal with complex variables in situations where limited standardization exists
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours and days based on needs of the victims/survivors
  • Team player, flexible and non-judgmental
  • Commitment to vulnerable individuals and families
  • Minimum of Master’s degree in relevant area or Bachelor's degree in other area and three years of relevant experience
