Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)is seeking a Maintenance Manager to provide executive-level leadership, direction, and oversight of the Olympic Region (OR) Maintenance Division in support of the agency’s mission to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient movement of people, goods, and services across Washington’s highway system. This position is responsible for strategic management of maintenance operations, staff supervision & development, budgeting, planning, safety, and asset stewardship across multiple geographic maintenance branches and a region-wide office, exercising independent judgment and discretion in policy, staffing, and operational decisions. The role leads Maintenance Superintendents, develops and manages long-range maintenance priorities and capital investment strategies, and ensures effective allocation of resources to meet regional and statewide performance goals while coordinating closely with WSDOT Headquarters. This position also serves as a key liaison with Design, Construction, Local Programs, and specialty support divisions to evaluate project impacts, provide maintenance input during scoping and design phases, and review plans, specifications, estimates, and design-build proposals to ensure long-term operational integrity of highway assets. A strong candidate will demonstrate expertise in transportation maintenance leadership, budget and program management, interagency coordination, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and the ability to guide complex operational decisions in a large public-sector infrastructure environment.
