Refrigeration Technician – Local Mechanical Contractor

Key Responsibilities:
Install and modify refrigeration systems, related equipment, and facilities
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment
Support the preventive maintenance program using work orders from supervision and accurately document work performed
Make safe adjustments to equipment as needed during production
Perform start-up and shutdown procedures in production plants
Properly use lockout/tag-out procedures to safely isolate equipment before working on it
Troubleshoot electrical components using a meter when equipment is down
Plan and schedule replacement of parts to minimize production disruption while maintaining safety
Work with air compressors and associated control systems
Communicate clearly with supervision and operations to ensure timely repairs and resolution of equipment issues
Perform other duties as assigned
Experience & Requirements:
Refrigeration experience (ammonia refrigeration strongly preferred) and/or Residential or Commercial HVAC Service Technician experience
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to perform in a fast-paced production environment
Experience with air compressors and associated control systems
Valid Journeyman License or Ticket
Class B Gas Ticket (or ability to obtain, if applicable)
High School Diploma or higher
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Strong skill set with commercial HVAC/refrigeration products, installation, and mechanical systems
Solid understanding of HVAC/refrigeration functions, ductwork modifications, and system design
Excellent communication skills with clients, coworkers, and project managers
Strong leadership, work ethic, and reliability
Strong analytical and logical skills with a high level of accuracy in detailed work
Stable background and consistent work history
