Hourly Pay: $15-18/hr

The Referral Triage Coordinator at Andrews Institute is responsible for the coordination, placement and follow-up of patient appointments for multiple physicians in multiple specialties. This position answers 24 multi-line phone system while being able to prioritize calls and appropriately triage cases under pressure. This role obtains and electronically inputs all patient demographics, schedules appointments using multiple electronic medical record systems, ensures equitable physician distribution, and provides follow-up to patients and referral sources. Ensures good working relationship with physician offices and referral sources to increase referrals and resolve complaints. This position tracks access statistics for monthly reports and updates physician protocols and insurance information. Performs case management services for out-of-town patients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the coordination, placement and follow-up of patient appointments received from a variety of sources including, but not limited to, patients, physician offices, military, attorneys, and worker's compensation.
  • Answers multi-line phone system while being able to prioritize calls and appropriately triage cases under pressure.
  • Obtains and electronically inputs all patient demographics, schedules appointments all in a timely manner and provides follow-up to patient and/or referral sources.
  • Ensures good working relationship with physician offices to assist in scheduling of difficult cases and same day appointments.
  • Maintains accuracy and organization of clerical data while adhering to all HIPPA regulations.
  • Electronically documents referrals accurately to tracks access statistics for monthly reports.
  • Obtains records for physician review, ensures equitable distribution of referrals to physicians, assists with coordination and scheduling of multi-appointments for out of town patients, and works closely with physicians and their staff to ensure correct referral protocols are followed.
  • Assists in providing operational and managerial support as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

Minimum Work Experience
  • 6 months Experience in healthcare or medical office Required
