A healthcare organization in New York is seeking a new Referral Coordinator to join its Specialty Care team in Oneida County.
About the Opportunity:
- Schedule: April 28-30; July 14-16; September 15-17; October (full month); and November 9-25
- Hours: 7am to 3:30pm
- Setting: Outpatient clinic
Responsibilities:
- Coordinating insurance referrals and prior authorizations
- Handling authorizations for radiology, labs, procedures, and surgeries
- Scheduling specialty appointments, procedures, and surgeries
- Ensuring all documentation and test results are completed and sent to providers
- Working closely with healthcare teams to ensure referral processes and patient care coordination
- Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- 1+ year of relevant work experience
- Associate's Degree or relevant medical office experience
- Strong experience with Referrals, Prior Authorizations, and Insurance Processes
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs)
- Ability to collaborate with medical teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Customer service orientation
- Adaptability and flexibility
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certification related to Medical Office Administration
- Experience as a Referral Coordinator, Surgery Scheduler, or Prior Authorization Specialist
- Background in Specialty Care settings
- Proficiency in Medical terminology
