Overview
Receives referral/authorization via fax, email or verbal. Reviews patient benefits for referral/authorization process. Initiates call to physician offices or Payer to complete referral process. Provides updates to patients/offices regarding referral/authorization status.
Education: High school education or equivalent
Experience: Medical office experience preferred
Other:
- Office operations and computer literacy.
- Additional languages preferred but not required.
- Must possess good organizational and communication skills
- Can identify areas in need of improvement and provide detailed explanation and problem-solving solutions.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality. Has an understanding of HIPPA regulations
- Represents Mercy at public and professional meetings and conferences as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
