The Intake and Referral Specialist (Link Coordinator) is the agency's first point of contact for individuals, families, and professionals seeking support in a fast‑paced behavioral health environment. This call‑center role is primarily remote and requires exceptional customer service, strong compassionate, person‑centered listening, and effective problem‑solving skills.
The Link Coordinator responds to high‑volume inquiries with empathy and accuracy, ensuring each person feels heard and is guided toward the most appropriate services. This role collaborates closely with Spurwink programs and staff to coordinate smooth, timely referrals and uphold a high standard of care.
The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
DUTIES:
- Support prospective clients, families, and professionals by providing timely, accurate information about services and programs via telephone, email, and fax.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of Spurwink's service array to thoughtfully discuss needs, triage inquiries, and facilitate appropriate referrals.
- Engage callers with empathy, active listening, and person‑centered communication that reflects Spurwink's values and commitment to compassionate care.
- Maintain accurate program information across internal systems, the external website, and relevant databases to ensure up‑to‑date access to services.
- Collect and organize data across multiple platforms to support reporting, quality assurance, and program coordination.
- Perform administrative tasks and provide operational support as needed to ensure smooth functioning of the Intake and Referral department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
HS diploma or GED required, some college experience is preferred. Must have effective oral and written communication skills. Must have experience with electronic databases, electronic communication, and personal computers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and Electronic Health Records preferred. Must be highly adaptive, organized and able to respond to disruptions while completing essential duties. Must show initiative and good problem-solving skills.
