Redding Elementary School DATA ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Position Available: Commencing with the 2026-2027 school year. Official start date will be July 1, 2026. Additional summer days available.

Hours: 7.5 hour work day with an additional half hour unpaid for lunch.

Salary and Benefits: In accordance with the support staff collective bargaining unit agreement. Salary in the $25.31/hour to $27.69/hour range or commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• High school diploma or its equivalent • Previous experience working with PowerSchool, including scheduling and enrollment of students/staff in program • Previous experience as an administrative assistant with concentration in data management preferred • Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Suite with a strong aptitude for learning new software. Knowledge of PowerSchool preferred. • Ability to interact with faculty, staff, students, parents and visitors tactfully and courteously at all times • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to compose written memos, letters and other professional documents • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team • Ability to maintain discretion and a high level of confidentiality • Ability to multi-task and shift priorities as necessary • Ability to manage and handle stress in a fast-paced environment

Overall Job Duties:

• Oversee all aspects of PowerSchool, the student database management system, including providing guidance, support, and training to all PowerSchool users and processing database queries/reports • Support teachers with PowerTeacher and PowerTeacher Gradebook • Implement and maintain PowerSchool Parent Portal • Use Excel extensively for assessment gathering and importing • Implement PowerScheduler to set up student class schedules • Provides monthly enrollment data to administrators • Responsible for accurate student data reporting and uploading reports to the State of CT Department of Educations website • Act as the school registrar, registering new students or withdrawing students who leave the system, and maintain student records • Responsible for all aspects of kindergarten registration providing accurate student projections for the following year • Maintain school schedules for planned/unplanned early dismissals, delayed openings, testing schedules, etc. • Document student attendance • Update school website with calendar and news information • Create and distribute Daily Bulletin • Create programs for school-wide events • Schedule school tours for new and prospective families • Welcome visitors at Welcome Window • Maintain a variety of files and records of a confidential and non-confidential nature • Filling as needed • Other duties as assigned by the building administrators
