Under the supervision of the Corps Officer, the Red Shield Youth Center Director provides leadership, direction, and support in developing organizational goals, managing resources, overseeing operations, and advancing youth development programs through the Red Shield Youth Center. This position is responsible for staff leadership, program oversight, community partnerships, fundraising support, volunteer development, and strategic planning to ensure the Red Shield Youth Center effectively serves youth and families while advancing the mission of The Salvation Army.

Essential Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Development: • Provide leadership and oversight to Youth Center staff and volunteers • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate employees and volunteers • Establish operational goals, procedures, and standards • Foster a positive, professional, and mission-focused culture • Ensure programs reflect and serve the diversity of the surrounding community
Strategic Planning & Resource Development: • Assist with strategic planning, budgeting, and program development • Develop measurable annual goals and objectives • Support fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and community partnerships • Assist with public relations and promotional activities • Ensure compliance with Salvation Army policies and applicable regulations • Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for youth and families • Collaborate with community leaders, parents, schools, churches, and organizations
Program Management: • Oversee youth programs, activities, and services that promote academic success, character development, leadership, recreation, and spiritual growth • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and participation • Maintain accurate attendance, discipline, and program records • Collect and submit required statistical and grant reporting information • Ensure quality programming that meets the needs and interests of youth ages served

Working Conditions: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor youth recreation settings and may involve standing, walking, lifting light objects, supervising activities, and occasional travel.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in business, social services, education, recreation, or a related field preferred • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in youth program leadership, administration, or nonprofit management • Experience supervising staff and managing programs preferred • Valid Driver's License required • CPR and First Aid Certification required or ability to obtain
