Working Hours and/or Working Conditions
Work 40 hours per week. The current operation is Monday and Tuesday 9am-6pm and Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 8am-5pm - determined by the Unit Administrator. May include evenings and occasional weekend hours. Hybrid schedule may be available following probationary period and depending on student needs and program operations. Campus assignment may vary. Local travel may be required several times per week, particularly during the school year. Most trips are less than 60 minutes each way, though occasional travel may exceed this timeframe. Coordinator must be able to walk, sit and stand for extended periods of time to station recruitment booths for between 2 - 8-hour sessions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and follow-up skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; experience with SIS, Ellucian Colleague, CRM/Recruit, and Business Intelligence tools is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, including the ability to deliver group presentations. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments of the college to ensure that specific objectives of the Student Services Unit are met

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of Admissions & Outreach receives day-to-day work direction/assignments from the Recruitment Manager, Admissions & Outreach. SUPERVISION GIVEN: Provides direction to part-time staff, work-study students, and student volunteers as assigned.

Job Function
Assist the Admissions & Outreach area in the performance of duties to support strategic and operational initiatives. Assist the department with design, development, implementation and management of admissions and outreach events and initiatives. Work cooperatively with staff and act as a liaison in activities targeting all prospective students through high schools, employers, community groups, campus visitors, groups eligible for state funding programs, career-starters, career-climbers, career-changers, and other interested people in both credit and continuing education programs.

- Follow up of prospects/current students and potential applicants, which may include in-person events, phone calls/ACD line, mailings, emails and texts.
- Serve as a department resource to all College personnel involved in recruitment; coordinate and assist with internal and external activities and recruitment/outreach development.
- Plan/schedule, promote and conduct recruitment and outreach activities - including events for schools, employers, community groups, campus visitors, groups eligible for state funding programs, career-starters, career-climbers, career-changers, and other interested individuals in both credit and workforce/continuing education programs.
- Recruitment and outreach activities may include but are not limited to participation in community events, recruitment/job/employee fairs, and high school classroom workshops/guidance visits/college fairs to engage prospective students, provide information, answer questions, and build strong partnerships.
- Recruitment & Outreach Coordinators may be assigned territories within Macomb, St. Clair, eastern Oakland, northern Wayne, and Lapeer counties.
- Assist in the research and identification of access points for assigned targeted segments; develop tools for reaching targeted segments and provide support for maintenance of the database used to manage contacts with targeted segments.
- Coordinate, support, and lead recruitment initiatives aimed at increasing student engagement and enrollment, including overseeing events, tours, presentations, and direct outreach to guide prospective students through the admissions and registration process for both credit and non-credit opportunities.
- Collaborate with the marketing department in the creation of admissions promotional materials as well as support content creation for the college-wide social media accounts for prospective students and events hosted by the admissions office.
- Maintain knowledge of all College offerings and be responsible for the dissemination of the information to prospective students as well as K-12 school districts, businesses, external agencies, and specialized community groups.
- Document and update assigned territory's progress within the admission funnel in the CRM/Recruit system which may include but is not limited to follow up communication with students through emails, phone calls, texts, high school visits, classroom presentations, college fairs, student applications, community/industry events, marketing campaigns and programs being offered at Macomb.
- Monitor and evaluate recruitment outcomes to ensure quality and professionalism; collect, analyze, and report operational and recruitment data through regular and ad hoc reports.
- Support Welcome Desk and lobby operations as needed.
- Maintain personal Outlook calendar to accurately reflect all recruitment activities.
- Will be expected to use Microsoft O?ce 365 programs. Additionally, will be expected to know or learn and use other software packages utilized within the department.
- Develop and make presentations to the College and external associations as directed.
- Participate in the development of long- and short-range departmental goals, plans, and policies, as well as strategic planning.
- Serve on college committees as assigned.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree required; course work in management, marketing, public relations, and/or sales is preferred.
Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years related experience in admissions, marketing/sales and/or recruitment.
A valid driver's license, current insurance, and reliable transportation are required. Employees will be expected to use their personal vehicles for travel and will be reimbursed at the current Internal Revenue Services (IRS) mileage rate.
