We are seeking an organized, energetic, and detail-oriented Recruiter / HR Assistant to support our growing workforce and recruiting operations.

Position Summary

The Recruiter / HR Assistant will play a critical role in recruiting, onboarding, and supporting employees and independent contractors across multiple service lines. This individual will assist with hiring efforts, maintain personnel records, coordinate onboarding activities, support HR functions, and help ensure a positive employee experience.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruiting

  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, and recruiting databases.
  • Screen resumes and applications.
  • Conduct phone screenings and schedule interviews.
  • Coordinate recruiting campaigns and job postings.
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruiting databases.
  • Attend recruiting events, job fairs, and networking opportunities as needed.
  • Build and maintain candidate pipelines for disaster-response and staffing projects.
  • Assist with workforce mobilization during surge events.

Human Resources

  • Assist with onboarding new employees and independent contractors.
  • Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and employment verification processes.
  • Maintain employee and contractor records.
  • Support benefits enrollment and HR documentation.
  • Assist with personnel file management and compliance requirements.
  • Prepare offer letters and onboarding packets.
  • Track training certifications and compliance requirements.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
  • Assist with offboarding and exit processes.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate databases and reporting.
  • Prepare recruiting and HR reports for management.
  • Assist with scheduling and calendar coordination.
  • Support special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of recruiting, staffing, HR, or administrative experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with staffing agencies, recruiting firms, or workforce management.
  • Experience supporting government contracts or disaster recovery operations.
  • HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) preferred but not required.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms.
  • Experience recruiting field personnel, inspectors, adjusters, construction professionals, or technical stafs.
