Job Description

Aramark Nexus is hiring a Recreation & Wellness Director for Caprock Workforce Community, located outside Pampa, Texas. This full-time Recreation Director role leads recreational programming, wellness initiatives, community events, guest engagement, and employee engagement activities in a large residential workforce community.

 

The Recreation & Wellness Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing all recreation programming, fitness activities, social events, wellness programs, and community outreach initiatives at Caprock. This role helps create a resort-style living experience inspired by all-inclusive resort programming and the culture-building approach of cruise ship activities directors.

The Recreation & Wellness Director will work closely with Marketing, Human Resources, Guest Services, Operations, and local community partners to build a welcoming, active, connected, and vibrant atmosphere for guests and employees. This role is responsible for creating a consistent calendar of recreation, fitness, wellness, social, volunteer, and community-building activities that support quality of life at Caprock.

 

Caprock is an all-inclusive workforce community where guests live, work, dine, and gather on site. The right candidate will bring strong hospitality instincts, creativity, organization, event planning experience, wellness knowledge, and the ability to engage a diverse guest and employee population.

 

Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $60,000 - $90,000 per year. This is Aramark's good faith estimate at the time of posting. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute a comprehensive calendar of guest events, recreational activities, fitness programming, wellness initiatives, and social gatherings on a weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis.
  • Create and maintain a resort-style community atmosphere that promotes guest engagement, connection, and overall quality of life.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for recreation and wellness-related guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns.
  • Oversee the daily operation, cleanliness, organization, and safety of community amenities, including fitness facilities, common areas, outdoor spaces, recreation rooms, and activity areas.
  • Design and lead wellness initiatives, including fitness classes, health challenges, and mental well-being programming tailored to the needs of a working community.
  • Support employee engagement activities by coordinating programming that strengthens team culture, morale, and a sense of belonging among staff and guests.
  • Organize and lead community service projects, partnering with local organizations and nonprofits to create meaningful volunteer and giving-back opportunities for guests and staff.
  • Build and maintain active relationships with local businesses, community organizations, nonprofits, and civic groups to extend the Caprock experience beyond the property and foster goodwill in the surrounding community.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Human Resources, Guest Services, and other leaders to align programming with broader organizational goals, promote events effectively, and ensure a cohesive guest experience.
  • Manage all aspects of event execution, including planning, logistics, vendor coordination, setup, breakdown, communication, and follow-up.
  • Develop and manage the recreation department budget, track expenditures, and provide regular reporting to property leadership.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise recreation support staff, volunteers, or activity support resources as applicable.
  • Collect and analyze guest feedback through surveys, participation tracking, and direct engagement to continuously improve programming.
  • Maintain accurate records of programming, participation, incident reports, facility inspections, and related department activity.
  • Ensure recreational activities, wellness programs, events, and facilities comply with applicable safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Caprock is a workforce community located outside Pampa, Texas, designed to provide a comfortable, connected, and well-supported living experience. The community includes private, fully furnished rooms, Wi-Fi, climate control, on-site dining, housekeeping, laundry, transportation services, resident support, recreation areas, fitness services, and security services.

 

As part of the Aramark Nexus team at Caprock, the Recreation & Wellness Director plays a key role in shaping the daily guest experience. This role helps create a community atmosphere where guests and employees can connect, participate, stay active, and feel part of something larger.

 

As an Aramark employee at Caprock Workforce Community, you will have the option to utilize on-site accommodations as part of your employment. Caprock offers fully furnished housing designed to support employees working in this unique residential workforce community located outside Pampa, Texas.

 

In addition to available on-site housing, all meals are included for Aramark staff. This provides employees with a convenient living and working experience while supporting the daily operations of the Caprock community.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor?s degree in Recreation Management, Hospitality, Kinesiology, Sports Management, Wellness, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in recreation programming, activities coordination, wellness programming, event planning, hospitality activities, or community engagement required.
  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing large-scale community, guest, recreation, wellness, hospitality, or employee engagement events.
  • Experience managing recreational facilities, fitness areas, amenity operations, activity spaces, or guest-facing community programming.
  • Budget management experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with a diverse guest and employee population.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Marketing, Human Resources, Guest Services, Operations, and other department leaders.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, events, priorities, and deadlines at the same time.
  • Creative and energetic approach to programming, guest engagement, employee engagement, wellness, and community outreach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic event management, scheduling, or activity planning tools.
  • Knowledge of fitness, wellness, recreation, and guest engagement best practices.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required, or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on programming and event needs.

 

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience as an Activities Director on a cruise ship or in an all-inclusive resort, hospitality, recreation, wellness, or guest experience setting highly preferred.
  • Experience in resorts, cruise ships, hotels, workforce housing, residential communities, campus recreation, corporate wellness, fitness centers, recreation centers, or large-scale hospitality environments.
  • Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives, team culture programs, morale events, or staff appreciation activities.
  • Experience leading community outreach, volunteer events, service projects, or nonprofit partnerships.
  • Experience building partnerships with local organizations, civic groups, nonprofits, community leaders, vendors, or local businesses.
  • Prior supervisory, team leadership, volunteer leadership, or activity staff management experience preferred.
  • Experience creating resort-style guest programming, social calendars, wellness challenges, fitness classes, recreation events, and community-building experiences.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 residential, hospitality, campus, remote site, or workforce community environment.
