As a Records Clerk, youll help support the courts operations by imaging, indexing, and retrieving court records while maintaining confidentiality and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess at least a high school diploma or GED and one year of clerical experience that includes providing customer service to the public, preferably in a professional work environment. Physical Demands: The Records Clerk position is one of the most physically demanding positions within the courts. You may often be assigned to functions that require you to be on your feet daily, filing court records away, pulling files for the courtrooms, boxing or rearranging files in the filing room. This will at times also consist of putting documents or files in order, to maximize filing efficiency. Occasionally, you will need to lift up to 40 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 5 to 25 pounds.
