ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client is a full-service 401(k) recordkeeper, third-party administrator (TPA), and registered investment advisor (RIA). They partner with plan sponsors, advisors, and payroll providers to deliver accurate, compliant, and efficient retirement plan administration. They aim to deliver a white-glove service to our clients and plan participants through fast, high-quality responses and proactive communication, leveraging technology to empower their people to do their best work.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Contribution Intake & Data Validation
- Review and validate incoming payroll and contribution files prior to posting
- Ensure files meet required data standards, formats, and balancing expectations
- Verify contribution amounts, compensation, eligibility, and source types align with plan provisions
- Identify missing, inconsistent, or anomalous data and prevent inaccurate files from entering the system
- Reconcile contribution totals and resolve variances before processing
Contribution Processing Execution
- Process employee and employer contributions accurately and within established SLAs
- Monitor queues, workflows, and exception reports to ensure timely posting
- Utilize system tools, automation, and manual controls to manage volume and deadlines
- Escalate time-sensitive or high-risk issues appropriately
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution
- Research and resolve contribution discrepancies, late contributions, and payroll variances
- Identify recurring data problems and contribute to long-term prevention strategies
- Partner with internal teams (e.g., payroll, implementation, compliance, technology) to clarify plan rules and correct issues
Process Ownership & Improvement
- Follow and help maintain contribution-related SOPs, job aids, and validation checklists
- Provide feedback on process gaps, control weaknesses, and opportunities for standardization
- Support efforts to improve upstream data quality and reduce rework, corrections, and exceptions
- Contribute ideas that strengthen controls and improve efficiency
Quality & Compliance Support
- Ensure contribution processing aligns with ERISA, IRS, and DOL requirements
- Support audits, internal reviews, and compliance checks related to contributions
- Maintain a strong focus on accuracy, traceability, and audit readiness
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Strong Excel skills with data manipulation, formulas, and formatting.
- Retirement industry and/or accounting/financial analysis experience.
- High attention to detail and comfort working with large data sets
- Ability to manage high-volume, deadline-driven operational work
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- 100% Remote with travel 1-2 times/year for events
- Compensation: $65k-$70k annually
