Primary Role:
To provide clerical support to all staff and visitors according to TMSA Charter Schools policy and procedures. Outstanding customer service is a top priority and must be conveyed at all times. The ideal candidate will also provide expertise and oversight of TMSA Charter Schools health services as needed. Promote health education because healthy students are successful learners. The school's nurse advocates for the physical, emotional, mental, and social health of students.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associate degree
- BLS/CPR Certification
- Nursing Assistant (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN)
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Friendly and able to interact professionally and positively with staff, students, parents, and community members
- Act as liaison between the community, the school, and other internal and external stakeholders coordinate appropriate documents for communication between schools and with the central office.
- Adhere to rigorous student and staff confidentiality protocols in all circumstances
- Act as first point-of-contact to callers, relay messages, and transfer calls as appropriate
- Computer skills should include, at a minimum, keyboarding, email, databases, Word, and Excel
- Perform a critical role within the TMSA Charter Schools health program
- Address major health problems experienced by staff and children
- Understand TMSA Charter School health care plan to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide preventive and screening services, health education, and assistance
- Provide interventions for acute and chronic illness, injuries and emergencies, communicable diseases, obesity, substance use and abuse, mental health, dental disease, nutrition
- Assist families and students in finding medical treatment (health insurance programs)
