Job Summary The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming shipments by receiving, inspecting, and documenting inventory. This role ensures all goods are accurately verified against purchase orders, properly recorded in inventory systems, and stored safely within the warehouse. The Receiving Clerk also supports communication with vendors and carriers to resolve discrepancies and maintain efficient warehouse operations. Duties/Responsibilities - Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage, comparing items against packing lists and invoices. - Verify quantities and product specifications to ensure compliance with purchase orders. - Accurately update inventory records in company systems upon receipt of goods. - Maintain detailed documentation of all received items, including reports of shortages, damages, and discrepancies. - Sort, label, and organize inventory, transferring items to designated storage locations or warehouse zones. - Communicate with carriers, drivers, and vendors to resolve shipping issues or damaged freight. - Process and prepare documentation for returns of defective or incorrect items. Follow all safety procedures, including proper operation of equipment and maintaining a clean and organized receiving area. Qualifications/Skills - Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping. - Good organizational and time management skills. - Ability to communicate effectively with team members, drivers, and vendors. - Ability to lift and move heavy items (typically up to 50 lbs). - Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices. - Ability to operate or willingness to learn warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks). #GL123
