Requirements
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the rebar fabrication or metal building industry
• Vocational certificate in CAD design, drafting, or equivalent industry experience
• Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
• Written recommendation from current manager and approval from current general manager (for internal candidates)
• Willingness and ability to travel, including short-notice travel when required
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Two-year technical degree preferred
• Experience with Rebar CAD or similar detailing software preferred
• Commercial contract management and lump sum project experience preferred
• Ability to work beyond normal business hours when necessary
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding personnel, customer, and company matters
• Ability to work in an office environment and perform standard computer-based tasks
Responsibilities
• Lead all detailing, internal project management, and sales service operations
• Supervise, coach, train, and develop detailers, project managers, and support personnel
• Manage recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and workforce development initiatives
• Coordinate workload planning, staffing levels, and backlog forecasting to meet customer demand
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and other departments to support profitable project execution
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and builders
• Assign and monitor detailing and project management workloads to ensure quality and timely delivery
• Oversee inventory control, scheduling, detailing throughput, and project tracking
• Manage change orders, commercial reviews, contract administration, and project documentation
• Conduct root cause analysis and oversee corrective actions for quality-related issues
• Review vendor invoices, back charges, and detailing service expenditures
• Evaluate freight efficiency, load optimization, and operational performance metrics
• Manage commercial risk, warranty issues, litigation concerns, and complex project reviews
• Lead division quality initiatives and ensure compliance with CRSI standards and industry best practices
• Support audits, continuous improvement efforts, technology enhancements, and process improvements
• Partner with other Nucor divisions to share best practices and improve overall performance
• Uphold Nucor's safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures
